About Digital Nomad Guides

Who We Are

Digital Nomad Guides is run by Joe Atlas, author of The Digital Nomad Guide: Vietnam (ISBN 9798311775137). After years of working remotely across Southeast Asia — from Da Nang's surf beaches to Saigon's buzzing cafe scene — Joe started writing the guides he wished he'd had when starting out.

Every recommendation in our guides comes from first-hand experience: co-working spaces we've actually worked from, visa processes we've navigated, and neighborhoods we've lived in. No regurgitated listicles — just practical, tested advice.

Our Mission

To help digital nomads build fulfilling lives in every corner of the world. Today's technology makes it easy to work from anywhere, but there's so much more to a rewarding nomadic experience than finding decent Wi-Fi. It's about immersing yourself in local culture, forming genuine human connections, and building a life that weaves your professional goals into a new place.

What Makes Our Guides Unique

  • Experience-Driven: Every guide is written from months of on-the-ground living, not from a desk in another country.
  • Work-Life Balance: Tips on juggling deadlines while indulging in local festivals, culinary delights, and cultural experiences.
  • Cultural Fluency: Practical ways to communicate effectively, respect local customs, and integrate into your temporary home.
  • Community & Networking: Strategies to cultivate professional relationships, friendships, and collaborations — both online and offline.

What's Next

While our inaugural guide covers Vietnam, we're just getting started. Upcoming guides will cover:

  • Tech Hubs & Creative Capitals: Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and the rising startup cultures drawing remote workers.
  • Nature-Focused Retreats: Mountain villages, coastal towns, and forest hideaways for recharging.
  • Community Spotlights: Inspiring stories from digital nomads who've built distinctive lives around the globe.
